Fallen Heroes Memorialized in Art and Song

The story about how the song “Look into the Face of a Fallen Hero” was conceived began as a typical day for Keith Crews, President of Revelation Media Group. He was trolling the Internet and happened to run across the Fallen Heroes Project site: fallenheroesproject.org. Mr. Crews was amazed by the incredible imagery that he witnessed. He also was inspired by the artist, Michael G. Reagan, a Vietnam War veteran and famous sketch portrait artist. He learned that when Michael G. Reagan was asked to do a portrait of a fallen hero, a medic killed in Iraq; he agreed to set aside his busy schedule to sketch the portrait. In the process of drawing the portrait, something clicked in him and he told his wife he was going to shut down his commercial studio and dedicate the rest of his time drawing portraits of fallen heroes at no charge for any family of a fallen hero that asked him. So far he has drawn nearly 2200 portraits. He sketches two portraits a day with each canvas taking 5 to 6 hours to do.

While on the website and glaring into the faces of the fallen heroes, the images were etched in Mr. Crews’ mind and a couple of days later, he wrote the song "Look into the face of a Fallen Hero". Through his company, Revelation Media Group, he raised enough money over the last 10 months to record and produce the song and the music DVD. Elevating Entertainment, Lamon Records, Nashville and Revelation Media Group are launching it on Memorial Day in commemoration for the fallen heroes.

The recording artists singing the song are Autumn Letendre, the widow of a fallen hero and emerging country singer/songwriter and Donnie Denny who was first runner up on the Oprah Winfrey National Karaoke Sing Off Contest last year that was viewed by 9 million people. One of Donnie’s friends, who lost his son in Iraq, told him about the project and Donnie agreed on the spot to sing on the song.

The proceeds from the song and DVD will assist five national military assistance non-profits: Fallen Hero Project, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), Intrepid Fallen Hero Fund, Golden Star USA, and Helping A Hero. Additionally, some proceeds will be used to fund the Fallen Hero Rolling Museum that serves as an interactive learning medium for students, individuals, civic organizations and corporations to find out the back stories of the fallen heroes and their love for America that led to their ultimate sacrifice.
